It´s a summer day in 2023, Madeira, it´s 31 degrees and I had a call about a project with an Expat located in Germany. I´m sitting at a beautiful desk with an amazing sea view. My thought - I could work here forever.

At the end of the call we have a private chat and I ask him how it is to move to Germany as an Expat while working and having a family. His answer: ,,To be honest Felix - it´s challanging, time intensive and overwhelming at the same time. What I had to consider even before the relocation, German bureaucracy, legal topics, insurances, bank account, tax number and so on. I could continue until this evening. Especially, uncertainty in every step about doing something wrong. What annoys me the most, is that I invested a lot of money during the process because of my lack of knowledge, although I did everything by my own more or less".

I´m on the balcony with a coffe and think how it would be to move to Portugal, Spain or Italy. I´m striving since a long time to make professional & private experiences abroad. Meeting new people, a new culture, the sun, good food, amazing views, but my next thought lead me to my colleague words, a few minutes ago. "Where would I start to inform and what do I have to consider before I move?
